Mark your calendar
By Randy Dyer
First, let me make a confession.
We planned to reload the storage unit from the last of the stuff we have at Metropolitan, so I put a crew together. Doug Free, Bob Kane, Andre Jackson, Bob Hamilton, and Kevin Keegan were all standing outside the unit when I discovered I brought them on the wrong day.
As it turned out, it was probably for the best, since when we did it today, there were far more heavy items — a dozen black chairs, 15 end tables, 20 dining room chairs, and more. Today’s group consisted of Mike and Joei Dyer, Sadie and James Dyer, Jack Landers, Pat Casey and Andre Jackson. The young bucks handled with ease what would have forced Bob Hamilton to cancel his afternoon tee time. It was done and done well. The unit is packed and I’m sure it will carry us through another month, or more.
Thanks to all who helped, or tried to help. I know Andre is never going to let me forget my screw up.
Now, for the calendar marking.
We just got word from Stepping Stones on a family moving out on 4/17. This one breaks a long-standing record for the OTS faithful. It is a family of 8 — parents, three girls (twin two-year-olds and a four-year-old), and three boys (1, 12, and 16).
No details yet, other than it will be in Montgomery Village, a townhouse, I hope. Once we have a plan, I will send it out so we can put a crew together.
Who knows — we might even get one more between now and the 17th, so keep your powder dry.
